Firstly, let’s address this: what is a comfort zone? It’s a place of certainty. Even if it’s not something you actually feel comfortable within, it’s a “better the devil you know” situation. It meets the human need for certainty. Therefore, you can predict what’s coming next because you’re familiar with it. In some ways, this makes you feel safe, even though you might want more.
The reality is, no matter what you want to manifest—whether it’s health and fitness, relationships, business or professional goals, or any kind of project or skill—you will need to step out of what you currently know in order to experience that. This means venturing into the unknown, and whatever is in the unknown zone is going to be uncomfortable.
The Common Manifestation Mistake
Here’s the problem: most people, when they go to manifest their goals or state what they want, make two key mistakes. First, they often say what they don’t want because they identify the problem or what’s uncomfortable or what they no longer want to tolerate. While it’s important to know what you’re choosing to create next, focusing too much on the negative can hold you back.
The second mistake is approaching new goals from the mindset of their current reality. Even with the courage to step into the unknown, many try to mentally push their way forward from their existing identity, which is limited by their current situation. This approach leads to incongruence. Even if you achieve your goal, it won’t stick because your underlying identity isn’t aligned with the new reality. This often results in self-sabotage, as people struggle to believe they’re worthy of their new success.
A Powerful Mind Hack
So, how can you mind-hack yourself to feel more certain about the actions you’re taking and the goal you’re choosing to manifest? Instead of moving forward from your current state, mentally rehearse the end in mind. Visualise the experience of what you’re choosing to manifest as if it already exists. See it, hear it, and feel it.
Visualise the version of yourself that is aligned with that outcome. Celebrate it, and see yourself in the process—taking the aligned actions and thinking the aligned thoughts that match this new reality. Practice this every day until it becomes familiar to you, in your mind and body. As you become familiar, you create more certainty and alignment with the version of yourself ready to manifest the goal outcome you desire.
Practical Steps to Manifest Your Goals
Here’s a strategy to get you started:

Be Clear on Your Outcome: Know exactly what you’re choosing to create. Leave behind what you don’t want.

Visualise Regularly: Visualise your desired outcome morning, noon, and night if necessary. Install this ritual of directing your energy and thinking.

Align Your Actions: Visualise the version of you taking the actions that not only bring your goal into reality but also maintain and develop it.
Be the version of yourself that already has what you desire. Most people try to be their current self to achieve something they don’t have yet, thinking they’ll change once they achieve it. It has to be the other way around. Be the version of yourself first, take the aligned actions, and then you’ll have what you’re calling into your reality.
